Sono Audiology
Core Values
1. Practice Independence
Sono Audiology will never enter into contracts, partnerships, or other arrangements with a manufacturer, supplier, or other company or individual that could compromise (or appear to compromise) its independence, patient prioritization, or core values.
Sono Audiology will contract only with insurers and other payors that allow Sono and its providers to deliver care in the way that best serves the patient, at reimbursement rates that are sustainable for the practice.
2. Respect for the Dignity of All Persons
Sono Audiology respects all persons without question or qualification.
Sono Audiology will make every effort to provide access to care for all persons within the financial means of the practice. This includes a commitment to reasonable profit margins, access to financing, and knowledge of resources for patients facing financial constraints.
Sono Audiology will collect only the information necessary for the evaluation and care of patients.
Sono Audiology will never share patient information with outside parties except as required for care, billing, or by law.
3. Evidence-Based Practice
Sono Audiology will provide evaluation, treatment, and consultation services aligned with current best practice literature whenever possible.
Sono Audiology will continuously monitor the modalities used within the practice to ensure their efficacy.
4. Truth and Clarity in All Communications
Sono Audiology will ensure that all marketing materials, patient materials, and communications with patients and prospective patients meet the highest standards of accuracy and honesty.
Sono Audiology will ensure that all information shared with patients and prospective patients is clear, both in language and in meaning. Claims about treatment efficacy, comorbidities, and other potentially complex concepts will be presented in easy-to-understand terms.
5. Commitment to Continued Learning
Sono Audiology providers will earn continuing education credits on subjects directly related to patient care and the science and practice of audiology.
Providers will obtain continuing education credits only from independent educational providers - never from device manufacturers, equipment suppliers, or similar entities.
Providers may attend other continuing education events, but such credits will not count toward state licensure requirements.
6. Transparency in Practice and Pricing
Sono Audiology will provide clear, comprehensive pricing for all devices and services.
Patients will receive good faith cost estimates before their appointments, including expected costs and any possible additional costs based on appointment findings, in accordance with the No Surprises Act.
Every service will be explained to patients, and their understanding will be confirmed before it is provided, particularly when an added cost is involved.
7. Recognition of the Dignity of the Profession of Audiology
Sono Audiology and its providers will practice in a manner that honors audiology as a doctoral medical profession providing appropriate, evidence-based care.
Sono Audiology and its providers will not engage in practices that diminish the standing or perception of audiology as a healthcare profession. This includes sub-par care for patients, provision of services without reimbursement, or reduction in pricing without a change in the cost of the device or service (i.e. sales or promotional discounts).
Sono Audiology and its providers will adhere to the Code of Ethics of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology.
