A more comprehensive evaluation for patients with specific medical conditions, concerns, or needs. Aimed at determining the cause of more complex ear-related conditions. May include additional tests of outer/middle ear, inner ear, or cranial nerve function, as needed. Most additional tests cost $30-$50 each. You will be informed about each test before it is performed. Diagnostic appointments include a plan for next steps, which generally involves a roadmap or medical referrals and audiologic treatment options. Note: Does not include hearing aid consultation beyond identifying if you are a hearing aid candidate. This is a 60-minute appointment.

Highly sensitive testing to track any changes in hearing related to patients who are taking ototoxic (ear damaging) medications. These medications include many cancer drugs, strong antibiotics, and loop diuretics. The initial ototoxic monitoring appointment includes comprehensive hearing testing including extended high frequency testing and otoacoustic emission testing. Results will be shared with you and the physician managing your medication throughout the process. This appointment will always include patient education on hearing, ototoxicity, and how to take care of your ears during treatment. This is a 60-minutes appointment.

Follow-up testing for ototoxic monitoring generally includes high frequency hearing testing and otoacoustic emissions testing to monitor hearing. If changes in hearing are found, results will be shared promptly with your prescribing provider to help with their clinical decision making. Frequency of follow-up testing varies based on the medication, but will occur during your treatment period, and generally for a while after treatment. This is generally about a 20 minutes appointment.

An evaluation of central auditory processing ability to determine if there are issues with how the brain and/or auditory nervous system process sound signals. Generally recommended for patients who have “normal” hearing but report hearing or listening difficulties. Includes an auditory processing treatment plan that generally includes recommendations for auditory training, environmental communication strategies, and assistive devices. Note: Does not include standard hearing testing. This is a 60-minutes appointment.

Auditory processing treatment appointments are built around your specific needs and grow with your progress. These appointments may include additional needs testing, one-on-one skills training, discussing and measuring individual therapy progress, and creating individual at-home therapies. This is a 30-minute appointment.

Lace Pro is an online, self-paced auditory skill training program. Modules focus on speech-in-noise training, rapid speech training, working memory training, and communication skills training. Dr. Greenaway generally recommends using Lace Pro in conjunction with other treatment options for APD and other listening difficulties. One-time fee that gives lifetime access to Lace Pro. Ear impressions for custom ear devices are $35 per ear. We can either give you your impressions to order your own devices or you can order through us. Price depends on the manufacturer and type of product.

We proudly partner with Lace Pro (neurotone.com/for-patients) to prescribe their online, self-paced auditory training program. Whether you want to get the most out of your hearing aids, are working to improve auditory processing problems, or just want to improve your listening skills, Lace is a great option. Per our contract with Lace, we cannot advertise our pricing, but we are happy to discuss options with you.

Orelo Hearing is an online video course designed by Sono’s own Dr. Greenaway to help you get the most out of your hearing aids. Whether you are a hearing aid user, a caretaker, or a professional supporting patients with hearing aids, Orelo is a great tool. Dr. Greenaway loves to use his years of experience both in the clinic and the classroom to support other professionals and hearing health partners in any way he can. From chart reviews on complex cases to team trainings on specific audiology topics, he will consider any proposals for services.

A comprehensive evaluation for patients with bothersome tinnitus. Aimed at determining the cause of your tinnitus and the best path for improving your quality of life. Includes extensive case history and several pre-appointment questionnaires. May include additional tests of outer/middle ear, inner ear, or cranial nerve function, as needed. Most additional tests cost $30-$50 each. You will be informed about each test before it is performed. You will leave this appointment with a treatment plan which will likely include: 1. referrals to other medical professionals, 2. a sound therapy plan, 3. a lifestyle modification plan, and 4. education about tinnitus and its causes. This is a 90-minute appointment. If you have had a recent hearing test, the cost may be reduced.

For patients who have recently had a comprehensive audiological evaluation. A comprehensive consultation using your existing hearing test results, aimed at determining the cause of your tinnitus and the best path for improving your quality of life. Includes extensive case history and several pre-appointment questionnaires. You will leave this appointment with a treatment plan which will likely include: 1. referrals to other medical professionals, 2. a sound therapy plan, 3. a lifestyle modification plan, and 4. education about tinnitus and its causes. This is a 45-minute appointment. Based on your situation, further audiologic testing may be recommended.

Appointments to follow up on your tinnitus treatment plan, determine success, and make changes as needed. The number and frequency of follow-up appointments needed varies based on the patient. Generally, at least a 1-month and 3-month follow-up are recommended, however, some patients choose to have no follow-ups after their initial consultation and some may require more. We will choose the right follow-up schedule for you at your consultation. This is a 30-minute appointment.

The above prices represent the cost of two hearing aids, not including any fitting fees or additional costs like custom earpieces or accessories. Sono Audiology works will all major hearing aid manufacturers, but we predominantly prescribe Oticon and Phonak hearing aids based on our experience of patient success.

Our most commonly dispensed set of hearing aids costs $2645, which includes two hearing aids, all fitting services, a 60-day trial period, and access to Lace Pro and Orelo Hearing. Hearing aid model, style, and need for accessories will be established during the hearing aid needs assessment (see below).

Note: Sono Audiology is an “unbundled” clinic. That means you pay less upfront for your hearing aids, then pay for any services following your 60-day trial period. See our “Hearing Aids” webpage for more information to determine if this model is right for you.

We start by making sure you have a quality, comfortable physical fit on your ears. From there, real-ear measures are used to ensure we are giving you the perfect volume for your hearing loss. We will take time to make sure your hearing aids sound good to you. This is where an in-home appointment really shines! We can try out your hearing aids in different rooms, with your TV, whatever will help. We will get you set up with Bluetooth streaming and any accessories you need. Finally, we’ll spend time discussing aural rehabilitation and auditory training to get you the most out of your devices. This is a 60-minute appointment.

A service for patients with existing hearing aids who aren’t happy with their devices. In our experience, many patients don’t need new hearing aids, they just need their devices tuned up. Just like with a new fitting, Sono’s re-fitting appointments ensure we get your hearing aids working well and have time to reintroduce you to your hearing aids, showing you how to use and take care of them. First we clean and service your devices. Then we make sure you have a quality, comfortable physical fit on your ears. From there, real-ear measures are used to ensure we are giving you the perfect volume for your hearing loss. We will take time to make sure your hearing aids sound good to you. This is where an in-home appointment really shines! We can try out your hearing aids in different rooms, with your TV, whatever will help. Programming changes to make your hearing aids sound better. Generally, hearing aids need to be reprogrammed if your hearing changes or if you feel like they aren’t meeting your needs anymore. If changes in hearing occur, hearing aid programming will be combined with real-ear measures but best results. This is a 30-minute appointment.

Included with fittings and reprogramming. A test that measures the sound of your hearing aids in your ears to make sure your hearing aids are programmed to your prescription.

Routine cleaning and maintenance for your hearing aids. For most patients this is recommended every 6 months. Your hearing aids will be thoroughly cleaned and some parts may be replaced. Most importantly, we run your hearing aids through a vacuum moisture removal system. Moisture is the biggest thing that keeps hearing aids from working well. Our moisture treatment system removes moisture to make sure your aids work well and last as long as possible.

For patients who need or want custom earpieces for their hearing aids, we will take silicone impressions of your ears to ensure they are built perfectly for your ears.

Custom earpieces for hearing aids. These may be selected for bigger hearing losses, for comfort, or to help keep your hearing aids in your ears. Can be ordered with new hearing aids or made for your existing devices.
